Following the riots in Cardiff last year, a total of 31 individuals have been charged in connection with the violent outburst. Shockingly, 27 people have been charged with the grave offence of rioting, while an additional four have been charged with causing or threatening to cause criminal damage. This prompted the police watchdog, the IOPC, to launch an investigation into the conduct of the police officers involved. The defendants, whose ages range from 15 to 53, are set to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court in the coming weeks to face justice for their actions during the riots.
